Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have invested in dog food and adopted a pooch from Dogs Trust.
The TV presenting couple and their son Jack visited the West London branch of the charity after seeing a dog called Maggie, a crossbreed who is eight months old.
Speaking about how Maggie has changed the family's life, Holmes said that their newest family member has made the couple re-evaluate what is important.
He said: "We used to think we would be too busy to look after a dog but she is making us change our priorities.
"Her walks bring us together as a family and talking about her brings us all closer as well. She makes us laugh a lot and she brings out a lot of love in each one of us."
The Sky News presenter added that the family is grateful to the team at Dogs Trust and that they are looking forward to the happy years ahead with Maggie.
