Doctors actor David Easter will now need to stock up on dog food and dog toys as he has adopted a pet pooch from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
The 51-year-old has re-homed a puppy named Princess, who is a German Shepherd/Rottweiler cross, from the charity.
He said: "I've been looking for the right dog for around two months - it was so important to find one who will fit in with the whole family.
"The staff here are so helpful and lovely, we've listened to their advice and now we are taking home Princess to her new life in West London."
Easter also had some advice for people who are considering getting a dog. He recommended Battersea and said getting the right dog takes perseverance and the ability to trust what the experts tell you.
Princess was selected from an unwanted litter that had recently been brought into the centre.
