Boxer dogs are a celebrity breed of choice

Wednesday, 10th October 2012

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home has highlighted the increasing popularity of Boxer dogs among both the general public and celebrities.

According to the rehoming charity, the breed has been a favourite of celebs ranging from Paul O'Grady to Janet Jackson, Neil Diamond, Jodie Foster and Robin Williams.

Battersea took in 55 Boxers during 2011, which on average remained at the charity for 35 days before finding a new owner.

Renowned for their big, slobbery tongues and lovely, dopey expressions, Boxers are a German cross breed with a short haired coat that makes grooming an easy task.

According to Battersea they're a great choice for a family dog, and love chasing around dog toys and generally being energetic. They require daily exercise.

Boxers thrive on two meals a day, ideally comprised of complete dry dog food alongside plenty of fresh water.
