Rescue cat shunned for resembling dictator

An unfortunate rescue cat was having to munch down cat food in the rescue home it lives in as it was being overlooked because of its unusual appearance.

The six-week-old kitty named Luminus looked remarkably like the dictator Adolf Hitler because of its black and white markings.

This prompted her to be renamed Kitler. Last week, spokeswoman Tara Dundon from Wood Green animal shelter in Cambridgeshire, said: "We cannot find a loving owner for Kitler. We think her unusual markings are putting people off."

However, after a host of media interest in the kitty's story, the strange looking puss has now found a home.

A statement from the charity said: "We are delighted to say that we have now found a wonderful, loving home for Luminus and we hope this will be the start of a long and happy life for her, now that she has a second chance."

Luminus was originally found on July 21st on the side of the road. Last year, the charity took in 1,294 stray cats and kittens.
