Pet cat 'sad and confused' after being abandoned in wheelie bin

A pet cat was left "sad and confused" after being dumped in a wheelie bin in Aberdeen with cat food, a bed and pet toys.

According to the BBC, the black cat, who is thought to be eight or nine-years-old, was found on Great Northern Road on Friday (September 16th).

The cat was then taken to the Ardene House vet practice and will be moved to Cats Protection of rehoming.

Local police are now asking for anyone who may have heard or seen anything to come forwards - especially a man wearing a hooded top, who was running along the street in the direction of Woodside.

Cats Protection recently revealed that of the 692 cats it currently looks after, almost half are either black or black and white.

Tracy Shiells, development manager at Cats Protection said: "They often get overlooked by prospective owners who would rather adopt a more unusual colour like ginger or tabby, which are very popular."
