One lucky puss from Chard will no doubt be appreciating his cat food after almost coming to a fishy end.
Sooty, an aptly named black and white moggy, got caught up in fishing wire and had a hook in his foot and mouth, reports thisisthewestcountry.co.uk.
Owner Rhian Jones revealed that she had not been concerned at first, as Sooty often goes off for days at a time, but when it got to a week, she started worrying.
Luckily, however, two Chard traders found the cat and took him to the Kingfisher Veterinary Practice, where Sooty had an operation to remove the wire.
The moggy was then taken to Ferne Animal Sanctuary and Ms Jones recognised her puss's picture on the website.
She told the news provider: "I didn’t think anything of it at first - but this time he wandered off for a week.
"He's never been in so much trouble before - the worst he has ever had was ticks!"
