A brave moggy from Cheshire will no doubt be spoiled with cat food after saving a fellow feline's life.
Toby, a three-year-old puss owned by Fiona Datoo, was called in to help after his older housemate Cuddles fell ill with a bowel disorder, reports the Knutsford Guardian.
Cuddles needed a blood transfusion and Ms Datoo nominated Toby for the job after finding that the two cats were a match.
She told the news provider: "I could not believe the coincidence.
"Our hero Toby was on the mend in no time after the donation and although Cuddles' recovery has been a little slower, he is also improving massively and now has a healthy high blood count and has also gained weight."
Vet nurse Jane Hammersley added it was "really lucky" that Toby and Cuddles were a match and said that donations are important because it can be very difficult to find a right match at short notice.
