A stray cat who gave birth in a tumble dryer in Birmingham is doing well, as are her five new kittens.
Patrick Ambrose, from Erdington, found the cat and her new arrivals in his tumble dryer after he came home from work.
Mr Ambrose had taken in the stray after finding her wandering around in his garden.
He explained that he found the new mum inside the tumble dryer curled up on a towel that was in the machine.
"I am so glad I have been able to help because they would not have survived if they were left as strays," he said.
"It’s obvious someone previously had the mum as a pet because she had been well looked after. I hope people will take them on."
The kittens have been named Whirlpool, Bosch, Hotpoint, Zanussi and Beko, all after famous tumble dryer brands.
Sheila Pennell, from the North Birmingham Cats Protection League, said the mother will now be spayed and the kittens will be immunised before they try to find the animals new homes.
