Blue Cross seeking people to take on older cats this Christmas

Friday, 9th December 2011

The Blue Cross is looking for people to buy cat food for older pets this Christmas and give these animals the change to celebrate.

Animal welfare assistant Jess Hollis from the Lewknor adoption centre spoke about four cats they currently have in their care that are looking for homes.

She said: “Moulder is one of the most gentle and loving companion anyone could ask for.

“He is a true gentleman at 13 years old. In human years that would make him a sprightly 68 years old! He is such a fantastic cat and we urge potential owners not to be put off by his age.”

She added that every cat at the centre is getting into the festive season and the best present they can hope for is a loving home.

This follows a plea from the RSPCA, which was urging pet lovers to give a foster home to cats and rabbits it has in its care over the Christmas period.
