Our customer asked:
Ihave just adopted a feline cat from a homing centre. She is a bit overweight, age 11 years. I was wondering if it would be safe and also beneficial to add l-carnatine to her diet as i have read this may help with weight control. Would this be wise?
Our reply:
I think that it can be good to feed a diet with added l-carnitine. However I would suggest using one of the commercial diets which includes it anyway, rather than adding it yourself. A good example diet would be "Hills Science Plan Cat Adult Light". The whole diet is intended to help with weight control. You still have to try not to be too generous though!
