Description

Zinacutin contains 20mg of zinc derived from approximately 200mg of zinc sulphate. Each tablet is sufficient to provide the complete supplement for a 20kg dog.

Zinc is important in metabolically active tissues such as the intestine, immune system and the skin. It is a component of more than 300 enzyme systems including many of those responsible for normal cell growth and repair. Despite the consumption of a diet balanced for zinc there are situations where additional supplementation is required.

Northern breeds such as the Husky, Malamute and Samoyed may benefit from additional supplementation. Rapidly growing dogs may also on occasions require extra zinc.

Dogs with poor liver or gastro-intestinal function often benefit from zinc.

The incorporation of zinc into a palatable base decreases the risk of gastro-intestinal upsets which can be seen with other highly concentrated supplements.

In more general terms, we aim to dispatch all orders within 1 working day of receiving payment (and a prescription if required). If we cannot do so within 3 working days we will contact you by email.

Delivery of aerosols

Due to air freight restrictions aerosols cannot ever be sent abroad by Royal Mail. We appreciate your understanding.

Delivery of temperature controlled items

Some products, such as insulin and frozen food, need to be delivered in insulated packaging to prevent them from getting too warm (or too cold) during transit from us to you. Purchasing any of these items in your order will result in a £1.99 charge being added to the total to cover the high cost of the insulated packaging materials. You only pay the £1.99 once per order, regardless of how many temperature controlled items you purchase in that order.

How do I cancel or return an order?

Please call us as soon as possible if you need to amend or cancel an order on 01582 842096. If your order has been processed for dispatch we will be unable to cancel or amend the order. You will however be able to return your product for a full refund*.

To return an item, you must contact us by phone or email to arrange this BEFORE posting any product back to us. We will explain the process at this stage for you.

Zinc for my huskies

My 31kg male husky is suffering with ZRD I have been giving him 50mg of zinc gluconate daily after food for the past month or so but his skin condition isn't getting any better I'm scared to give him more as I don't want to overdose him. Have you any ideas how to combat this condition ? He is fed a balanced raw diet from wolf tucker and has a little salmon oil on his food 3 times a week.

I would have to wonder if you have the correct diagnosis. The whole point about Zinc Responsive Dermatitis is that if you give a zinc supplement, the skin condition clears up. If that does not work, then by definition the dog does not have ZRD. Possibly it will start to show a good response if you continue a bit longer, but I would think you need to reassess the diganosis. Possibly this is just a pyoderma, or perhaps allergic skin disease. (Allergies can still happen on any diet.)
