35 YuMOVE Joint Supplement for Dogs

Bought this because of its rating and the type of help it would give to our young dog (stiff rear leg). He's only been taking it for 2,5 weeks and it seems to be helping a little alrady. However, YuMOVE suggests it needs a minimum of 6 weeks. I have high hopes and fingers crossed, Regards, John

YuMove may seem expensive, but they have made such a difference to our dogs arthritis. She likes them too, so giving them is easy.

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding YuMOVE Joint Supplement for Dogs, including answers from our team.

Use in dog with early kidney disease

Is this product suitable for use for a dog which has been advised to use renal diet food?

  • VioVet Staff

Any change in diet can affect a dog with underlying kidney issues if they are on a special kidney diet. YuMove is a very safe product but could interfere with this diet by adding additional protein etc. It is best to discuss this with your vet to be certain it is safe.

Double dose

My dog was on yumove but I stopped it beginning of may. If I start again now, do I need to double dose for the first few weeks?

  • VioVet Staff

If there has been a significant treatment gap then it is advised to start the initial higher loading dose if you can.

Brian Jorgensen

My dog is showing signs of arthritis in one front leg, what joint supplement should I use?

  • VioVet Staff

YuMove is a great choice of joint supplement. I also recommend our own brand Joint Force. You esssentially want a comprehensive joint supplement that contains multiple beneficial ingredients for the joint, like the ones mentioned previously.

Use with other medication

Hi, we have a 9 year old lab who has arthritis and epilepsy. Literally just wanted to ask if yumove is compatible and safe to use with Metacam & epilepsy medication? Thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes YuMove is safe to use alongside Metacam and anti-seizure medications. It is actually advised to be used in arthritis alongside medications like Metacam as they both work to help support the condition together.

I have a 9yr old rescue gun dog. she has arthritic shoulder joints , which cause her pain I'm sure. she's presently on Synoquin and Previcox and "Renewme"
I'm running out of "Renewme". can you advise me i I should continue with your suppliment or have an alternative.

  • VioVet Staff

Synoquin is a joint supplement, like YuMove, so I recommend choosing one or the other. Giving both is unlikely to make a significant difference.
RenewMe is a brain support supplement. In an older dog it is great to support the brain in this way so I advise continuing it if you can. More information about RenewMe and its uses can be found on the product page itself.

Hip problems and arthritis she is 13 months old

mark pendleton

are GSD Kia is 13 months and we have just found out she had arthritis and hip displacement does your supplement work for these problems ? i dont wish for her to be on pain killers for the rest of her life or (surgery)

  • VioVet Staff

Joint supplements are a great idea for a dog that is prone to or has arthritis and joint issues. These can prevent or prolong the need for medicative pain relief. YuMove is a good choice, as is our own brand Joint Force. I recommend reading our blog 'Arthritis in pets - prevention & management' for a good guide on the issue and how you can help your dog further.

Arthiritic hips in labrador

Jane S

My 12 year old lab has arthritis in his hips/legs. He is presently on Metacam and VetPro Joints and Mobility tablets and doing quite well. Whilst I know I can and do get Metacam from you, I find the cost of the Vetpro Joints & Mobility tablets from my vets extremely expensive. Are the YuMove Joint Supplements the same/similar to these and do they have the same effect?

  • VioVet Staff

The ingredients of VetPro Joint & Mobility appear to be very similar to other brands of joint supplement. YuMove would be a good replacement. I also advise checking out our own brand Joint Force which is also a good joint supplement. If you would like more information about treating arthritis then I advise reading out blog 'Arthritis in pets - prevention and management' for more information.

Allergy concern

If this is in capsule form, can you advise what the capsule sheath is made of as we have a dog that is allergic to most meats?

  • VioVet Staff

YuMove comes in a flavoured tablet form which will contain some meat proteins. I recommend using Synoquin EFA instead if your dog is prone to allergies, this comes in capsule form but the capsules can be opened and the ingredients sprinkled into the food. This means only the active ingredients are given.
It is worth noting that the active ingredients in all good joint supplements are sourced from shellfish so if your dog is allergic to this then I would be cautious.

Which YuMove for 10 month old Bernese

Alan Smith

Which YuMove product is recommended for a 10 month old Bernese Mountain Dog weighing 55kgs? He is fit and active and likely to go to 65kgs.

  • VioVet Staff

YuMove Young & Active is slightly more targeted for younger and growing dogs so I would advise using this. I also recommend checking out our own brand Joint Force, this contains very similar ingredients to YuMove and is another appropriate option.
