  • B-complex is a group of water-soluble vitamins and a daily intake

Vitamin chews

Cheryl Dickinson

Can this be taken with à prescribed special diet for urinary

  • VioVet Staff

If your pet is on a special diet for the urnary system then any addition to this (treat, supplement or other food) can interfere with it. The amount of Vetzyme supplement given will likely be so small compared to the overall diet it is unlikely to impact the urinary system. However you should run it's use past your vet to be certain it is safe.

Side effects

Jan Humphrey

  • VioVet customer since 2012
  • From: Denbighshire, United Kingdom

My dog has been taking these for 3 weeks now and although his mobility seems better he has had dreadful diarrhoea. Could this be a side effect ??

  • VioVet Staff

This product certainly does not normally cause diarrhoea, but it is entirely possible that it will on occasions. If it does, it should normally settle down quickly in much less than 3 weeks. I think you would be best to stop this and any other supplements for a while. If he is on any prescription medication, ask your vet if it is acceptable to stop that too for a while. Then give a restricted amount of easily digested food for a while (chicken, fish, rice etc) possibly adding a probiotic (Protexin Enterogenic is great). If the diarrhoea clears up, you could gradually add this supplement back to the diet, but start with a reduced amount and see how it goes. It is perfectly safe to give a low, trial amount and gradually get up to the full recommended amount. If diarrhoea persists, it is a matter for your vet to deal with.

Testing

Roberta Pozzoli

hello,

what are your policies for animal testing Vetzyme products? I am looking for joint care meds but will not use anything that has been invasively tested on animals.

thank you

  • VioVet Staff

Generally speaking it is only licensed pharmaceutical products which are tested on animals. Vetzyme products are based on the general knowledge gained from other products and uses and they are not tested on animals (other than through widespread use in the market as a whole).

Doseage

steph

hi
can you please tell me what the doesage is for a 27kg lab and if it is reduced after a certain period of time
many thanks

  • VioVet Staff

The dose guidelines can be seen by clicking on Dosage in the Description Tab near the bottom of the listing. For a 27kg dog, the recommended daily amount would be one tablet. Some people recommend a double dose for the first month (2 tablets daily). If things are going well, it is always possible to reduce the dose further after a few months, maybe increasing it at times if needed.
