55 2nd time buying

Great product. Bought a size smaller this time (m) but think for most, with padding, large would fit (I already have large). Very robust, takes a bit of getting used to, to make it fit comfortably but my horses live out 24/7 even when they have an abcess.. can just pit a poltice on under this boot and It's never come off.

45 Versatile multi-use poultice boot

This is the second boot I have purchased to replace my original which I have had for several years. I have used them as a poultice boot, to protect the hoof after losing a shoe and also to keep a loose shoe in place. This has allowed turnout for the day. I've also used them overnight in the stable.

55 Keeps poultice in place

My heavy horse has a nasty abscess which has burst through the coronary band. She has been poulticed daily for a fortnight and her foot will need to be kept clean and dry for ages. To make things harder she has an enormous hoof. The orange size is one of the few boots on the market which is big enough and it is fairly easy to get on once you have worked it out, though my horse is quiet and quite easily bribed. It is fine on its own in relatively dry conditions or in school or stable but needs a tape cover on the poultice and under the boot if conditions are muddy. It holds everything in place and the horse can walk in it quite easily. It has held up extremely well so far but you do need a good supply of spare ties.

55 Really useful boot

I agree you have to find the best loops to put the ties through. Also the horse was very fidgety trying to tighten them; and then cut loose when changing dressings. The large size is MUCH too high at the back and ultimately rubbed her heel. We also have a medium size which has a kinder heel; suggest manufacturer is made aware of this. Finally, no way does it stay on a naked hoof, but is excellent for stopping toe rubbing through bandage/duck tape. Very useful and excellent value for money. Lastly, the ties (for large boot) need to be 25". The largest i could find commercially are 23", just too short to capture and pull tight.
