I was really disappointed with this wormer. I find it really difficult to give my dog worming tablets so why I found out there were chewable options I thought it might save a head ache. The tablets are identical to the non-chewable ones. I expected a soft, meaty sort of tablet but it's hard and doesn't appear to have much flavour (by smell at least). I'd say the results of giving the tablet were worse if anything.

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Veloxa Wormer for Dogs, including answers from our team.

Is this better?

Nat c

I see this works against more worms than drontal. Is it therefore better to give this product? Cheers

  • VioVet Staff

It can be confusing to compare these things when the common names of different worms are used. In fact this product is virtually identical to Drontal and will have exactly the same level of activity against all the same types of worm. You can use either product and it should make no difference to the worms. The flavouring and bulking agents are different, but that is all.

Re use of veloxa

Julie

How often should veloxa be used is it every 3 months?

  • VioVet Staff

Generally speaking a dose every three months is appropriate for adult dogs using this or any other multi-wormer. Strictly speaking the best dosing frequency depends on the precise circumstances the dog is kept in and the potential for picking up new worms from the environment etc. However giving a dose every 3 months is usually fine.
