The new SureFlap Microchip Pet Door identifies your pet by reading their unique identification microchip — the first to be designed to meet the needs of large cats and small dogs. No collar is required for microchipped pets. Compatible with all international microchip formats, the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door can store up to 32 microchip numbers, runs on 4 x C-Cell batteries for over 12 months, comes in two-part construction for easier installation, and fits into doors up to 6cm thick with no accessories. The microchip pet door can also be installed in glass from 3mm to 6cm in thickness — a glass mount adaptor will be required for all glass installations.
For non-microchipped pets you can use the SureFlap collar tag.

Flap opening dimensions
178mm (W) x170mm (H) - this dimension is the smallest area of the pet door that your pet will have to enter.
Door and wall mounting dimensions
207mm (W) x 234mm (H) - the exterior frame can be used as a template to cut the hole required to fit your pet door.
Exterior frame dimensions
262mm (W) x 281mm (H) - size of the exterior pet door frame
Tunnel depth
70mm (D) - depth of the inside tunnel of the pet door.
Glass mounting dimensions
300mm - a circular hole is required to install the pet door in glass. The optimum hole size is 300mm, but the pet door can be installed into holes up to 320mm in diameter.

I chose SureFlap for my new cat flap as I think it is the best that you can buy. I have had one for years that has worked perfectly well and the only reason for buying a new one was because we were having an extension built and needed one to go into the wall. We decided a new one would be best.I passed the other one on to someone .
There were lots of improvements to the new model.It is very useful to have a timer that can be set for the door to open or lock. My cats have adapted to the new one very easily even though there is tunnel.

Can this be set to “in only” on a timer?
The SureFlap Microchip Pet Door has a manual lock which stops your cat leaving or entering the house. Set to 'in-only' to enable your pet to come indoors without being able to get out again.

Thank you for your question.
For wall installations, tunnel extenders can be stacked together to
create a longer approach tunnel to the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door or
the Microchip Pet Door Connect when it is installed in a wall.
The Pet Door Tunnel Extender fits snugly onto the 70mm long tunnel of the pet
door. Each tunnel extender adds 50mm to the overall length of the
tunnel.

Can you tell me the depth of the frame at the bottom of the flap. I am replacing a smaller flap which is sited near the bottom of the door panel so don't have much room to play with before I start to overlap the bottom of the door frame.

The depth from the inside part of the pet door is 4.8 cm.
The depth from the pet door tunnel which is outside is 7 cm.
