Specific CT-H and CT-HM treats are high fibre and low fat treats which are ideal for dogs which are over weight or those who are prone to weight gain. The complex carbohydrates and high level of fibre create a gradual release of glucose into the dog's system after eating which makes these treats ideal for those dogs which have developed diabetes mellitus.
Wheat, fish meal, maize protein, beet pulp, powdered cellulose, hydrolysed pork protein, rice, eggs, minerals, animal fat, vitamins and trace elements.
Antioxidants: EC approved additives: BHA, propyl gallate. The treats contain no artificial colours or flavourings.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding SPECIFIC (Dechra) CT-H Healthy Dog Treats, including answers from our team.
Karen Smith
Vett xx healthy dog treat. Should I give my diabetic dog this as I am told only to inject and feed at 12 hour intervals.
These treats are better than most other treats for a diabetic dog as they contain slow release carbohydrates. However any change in diet may alter your dog's insulin requirements so it is important to run their use past your vet just in case.

Can you recommend treats for my dog who has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis?
You should stick to low fat food if your done is prone to pancreatitis. Those severely affected can be set off by any change in diet though so i advise sticking to one food if you can. I recommend discussing any dietary changes with your vet to check this is safe, whether you can give treats or not greatly depends on the severity of the pancreatitis.
