INSTRUCTIONS

Cutaneous use. One collar per animal to be fastened around the neck.

Remove collar from protective bag directly before use. Unroll collar and make sure that there are no remnants from the plastic connectors inside the collar. Adjust the collar around the animal's neck without tightening it too tight (as a guide, it should be possible to insert 2 fingers between the collar and the neck). Pull excess collar through the loop and cut off any excess length extending beyond 2 cm.

The collar should be worn continuously for the 7–8-month protection period and should be removed after the treatment period. Check periodically and adjust fit, if necessary, especially when kittens are rapidly growing.

My 2 cats were flea-free when I moved to a new rental that had wooden floorboards throughout. Within 2 weeks of being there they were scratching like mad, I was getting bitten to pieces and saw live fleas on my furniture. My cats couldn’t go out so the fleas could only have come from under the floor. I tried every flea treatment going, including prescription strength from the vet, and spent a fortune on flea bombs and house-spray - none of it worked and even after 6 months of treatments I removed at least 20 live fleas while combing 1 of them (a dense-coated BSH) :(((
I bought their Seresto collars in July and thought I had nothing to lose - £60+ (for 2) seemed a lot, but lasting for at least 6 months that worked out the same as only 3 months of spot-on from the vet (that wasn’t working).
The cats don’t like collars so took a few days for them to get used to wearing one, but the flea problem felt like it disappeared overnight!! I’ve moved again now and my house has carpet and laminate floor, but still no sign of any fleas, and the cats are also able to go out.
Sorry for the story, but just wanted to show how these have worked when everything else failed, and also saved my hands/arms from the monthly fight to get tablets/spot-on anywhere near my cats.

Had tried several spot on treatments but none of them seemed to work effectively. My cat has an allergy to flea bites and would scratch until her skin was sore and stress lick until she had bald patches so decided to get a Seresto collar as a last resort and after only one week she is not scratching or licking and all her sore patches have healed. She is so calm now and playful again. Wish I'd bought this collar sooner. Will definitely be replacing it when it's time to do so.

Are all wormers safe to use while using this collar

Diane

My dog has the seresto collar, and has recently been wormed with Cestem, could there be any problem with this combination, as she's gone off her food

  • VioVet Staff

Seresto contains Imidacloprid and Flumethrin whilst Cesteem contains Pyrantel/Febantel/Praziquantel. These are completely different active ingredients and are safe to use together.
It is likely the signs you ar seeing are not related to Cesteem or Seresto as adverse reactions are rare, but if you are concerned that either of the medications have caused what you are seeing then please contact us on [email protected] so we can investigate this further for you.

Can they cause constipation

  • VioVet Staff

Constipation is not a listed side effect for Seresto so this is unlikely related. In fact a rare side effect is diarrhoea, the opposite of constipation.
