Cleaning perches?

Mel

I puchased some of these and they have done a fantastic job of wearing down nails and keeping beak trim. However, as the perches have become soiled, am I able to wash them without damaging the sand coating? Thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

Ideally these perches should be positioned so that there is not a perch directly above them. Then generally they stay clean and tend not to become soiled. However if cleaning is needed, simply using hot water will normally be reasonably effective. We do not supply any special cleaner for them. Try cleaning a small part first and making sure it works.
