Description

Renal Feline is a complete food for cats that suffer from chronic renal insufficiency or hepatic encephalopathy. It is specially formulated to support and maintain healthy renal function while reducing oxalate stone formation. Phosphorus retention can lead to secondary hyperparathyroidism and can also lead to renal failure, so this food has a very low phosphorus content to prevent phosphorus retention. Omega 3 long chain fatty acids will help to support a lower glomerular pressure which will help to prevent GFR (glomerular filtration rate). An increase in uraemia often causes the development of gastric or intestinal mucosal ulcers. This will be prevented with added FOS and zeolite. Additionally, the food contains a special synergistic antioxidant complex which will help to boost your cat's natural defences, neutralise free radicals and maintain healthy cells and DNA.

Royal Canin veterinary dients should only be given in conjunction with your vets recommendation!

We got this renal food because it is one of the few renal foods Chicky did not ignore. Chicky actually loved this food, specially the chicken flavour. At the moment, however, he is not eating at all. We have to feed him but hopefully the crisis will pass and he will return to eating. He still eats a bit of the dry food from Royal Canin renal Select but not enough for his dietary needs.

55 The only renal food she will eat
Verified Purchase

This is the only food my girl with stage 4 renal failure will eat. We've tried everything, she plummeted fast & refused to eat - she was on a tube being fed for 3 weeks. After an intensive stay in the vets she started eating again a little. We tried all of it, animonda, Hills, nieren, pro plan, this is the only one she will completely finish! Now she's on this food, is treated homeopathically and has subcutaneous fluids daily and runs around playing like a kitten. We are so glad our girl is so happy.

my cat seems to prefer this to Hills product, just a case of trying to tempt him as his appetite is poor, but seems to like this better
