LOw purine

Can you feed any dog low purine dog food?

  • VioVet Staff

If your vet has recommended this U/C diet then it is safe and suitable. It is not advised to feed a healthy dog a urinary veterinary diet like this though, the low purine is intended to reduce the chance of certain urinary stones forming which is not necessary in a healthy pet.

Could i mix this food with wet food, eg. with Wet UC pouches.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes you can mix the Royal Canin U/C wet and dry versions together without interfering with the overall effect of the diet.
