Why was RenewMe™ created?

While ageing is inevitable, it doesn’t mean that your pet can’t continue to enjoy a high quality of life into their senior years – they may just need a little help! Maintaining normal brain function is key to avoiding distressing behaviours caused by ageing and allowing our pets to continue leading their lives feeling alert and filled with vitality.

Supplements can be costly and we can find ourselves with limited options so, just like the rest of our VioVet Own Brand range, we wanted our customers to have a trustworthy, more affordable product for their senior pets.

How does RenewMe™ help?

Our concentrated formula is rich in antioxidants which help to actively reduce the action of damaging free radicals. It also contains a complex of ingredients which are critical in promoting normal brain health and function, most importantly in neuron activity which carry messages within the brain.

Signs associated with cognitive decline

• Disorientation, wandering or pacing (or even getting a bit lost in familiar places)

• Lack of energy

• Confusion and forgetting normal routines

• Disinterest in family members

• Changes in temperament (e.g. barking familiar faces)

• Increased anxiety

• Reduced responsiveness to commands

• Loss of toilet training

When should I start giving RenewMe™?

To get the most benefit, we recommend to start feeding RenewMe™ in your pet’s senior years to help inhibit the development of cognitive decline with age, or as soon as signs are first noticed.

25 RenewMe, perhaps not

I had been using Aktivat but Viovet recommended a swap to the Renewme products. I did. I wish I hadnt. My ten yr old dog did an amazing turn around with the Aktivat but after a week on the RenewMe he had slipped backwards. So now I have to buy more Aktivat on top of the money I have wasted on the RenewMe.

VioVet's Response:

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your dog doesn't seem to be benefitting from RenewMe in the same way. The formulation overlaps in key areas to the product he was on before, but there are some ingredients each contains that the other does not. They are both excellent products for supporting long term brain health but we also understand that each dog will respond differently - it's a shame RenewMe doesn't seem to be the one for your dog. All the best, VioVet.

Whilst this product has not upset our dog’s health, we have sadly not seen any real improvement in his mental function; he is still disoriented and forgetful. Maybe if we had started the tablets earlier, they might have been more effective.

VioVet's Response:

Hi Carol, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that RenewMe hasn't yet shown any change for your dog. We'd encourage you to use up the rest of the pot, so he has a few weeks on them and see how he does. While we'd hope they could provide him some benefit, we can't guarantee behavioural changes can be reversed but in the very least, we'd hope they can help him to maintain his current level of brain health and allow him to enjoy himself. Best wishes, VioVet

45 Good product

I have 3 dogs all of whom were very ill with some strange virus and vomiting excessively in February. My two very energetic large rescues, who eat everything and have never been ill, took to their beds for 4 days. Both will eat anything and everything but one of them did not eat for 2 days and the other did not eat for 4 days. After that they bounced back and were fine. However my elderly collie (about to be 13) was very ill and did not eat for 4 days and still was very lethargic, hardly eating, dreadful runny stools and waking me up several times in the night asking to go out but then not seeming to know why she was outside. Took her to vet. He gave her antibiotics and probiotics but thought she might be starting dementia. Put my collie on a rice and chicken diet. Things improved a bit but stools were still not right and she was still waking me in the night but not as frequently maybe only once or twice a night. But she was still very fussy over food - even leaving bits of chicken yet then trying to eat the nastiest things on walks (YUK) and wandering off and not coming back when called and seemed to be away with the fairies when found. (She was a very obedient agility dog so this was totally out of character.)
Then I started her on Viovet's Pro-kolin and Viovet's RenewMe. Things are now, more or less, back to normal. Stools are fine, I am no longer being woken in the night and she is eating all her food and is not wandering off on walks. I cannot say all this is down to RenewMe but it has undoubtedly helped as do the probiotics and Pro-Kolin. re value for money the probiotics and Pro-Kolin are a lot cheaper than those provided by vet. I don't think the vets have anything like RenewMe.

Does ReNewMe have any side-effects at all?

  • VioVet Staff

Hello,

Thank you for your question. RenewMe should not have any side effects - the ingredients are natural and it should be able to be given alongside medication and other supplements with no problem. If you're concerned about combining it with a particular product though, feel free to let us know which it is, or you can ask your vet before adding RenewMe to their diet :-)

I have a thirteen year old Airedale, taking Metacam, Yu Move and Apoquel. Can Renew Me be given with these medications and if so what is the dose?

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Liz,

Thank you for your interest in RenewMe :-) It's a very safe nutritional supplement that should not interact adversely with your dog's current medication.

Here is our full feeding guidelines (it will probably be 1 or 2 capsules a day depending on the weight of your Airedale):

Cats & Dogs <10kg: 1 capsule every other day
Dogs 10 - 20kg: 1 capsule daily
Dogs 20-40kg: 2 capsules daily
Dogs 40kg+: 3 capsules daily

Do let us know how they get on with it / if we can help further :-)

Have a lovely Christmas!

Mixing Supplements

PoodleMum

Can this supplement be fed together with Regutum?

  • VioVet Staff

Hello!

Thank you for your question.

As all of our own supplements use natural ingredients, they are completely fine to feed together - RenewMe can be given with ReguTum (either Fibre Care or Probiotic Paste), and it doesn't matter if they are given at the same time or seperately.

I hope this helps,

What is the size of the capsule? Compared to Activate Cat.

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Sookyung,

Thank you for your question!

Compared to Aktivait Cat, RenewMe™ has a larger capsule as pictured below, though this is because there is a much higher amount of active ingredients per capsule in RenewMe™ in comparison to Aktivait, so each capsule only needs to be given every other day, rather than daily.

I hope this helps!
