Description

In cases of renal insufficiency, a tailor-made diet with specially selected nutrients can help to support your dog’s kidney function for optimal wellbeing.

ROYAL CANIN® Renal Liquid is a complete and balanced liquid formula designed for tube-feeding dogs that have one of the following conditions:

• Acute kidney injury

• Chronic Kidney Disease

• Hepatic encephalopathy

Kidneys that are not functioning efficiently often means that phosphorus cannot effectively be filtered from the blood stream. This liquid product contains high quality proteins and a restricted phosphorus level to support kidney function. This formula is enriched with EPA, DHA, and a synergistic antioxidant complex to help support your dog’s health and vitality. ROYAL CANIN® Renal Liquid has a high energy density that meets your dog’s daily energy requirements in a reduced feeding volume.

ROYAL CANIN® Renal Liquid had an adapted viscosity that makes it ideal for easy tube feeding, no matter what size the tube is. ROYAL CANIN® Renal Veterinary diets for dogs are formulated to support kidney function in dogs with Chronic Renal Insufficiency. Each formula in the ROYAL CANIN® Renal Support range contains specific nutrients to provide your dog with a complete and balanced diet.

  • Formulated to support renal function in case of renal insufficiency: high quality proteins and restricted levels of phosphorus. Contains EPA + DHA and antioxidants.
  • High energy density that provides daily energy requirements in a reduced feeding volume.
  • Complete and balanced liquid diet to support the renal function in case of renal insufficiency, for cats requiring assisted enteral nutrition.
  • The synergistic antioxidant complex (including high levels of Vit E, Vit C, taurine and lutein) helps neutralise free radicals.

can royal canin recovery liquid be taken at the same time as renal liquid

  • VioVet Staff

They can be used together however they both have slightly different intended uses and so this may not be appropriate. It is advised to check with your vet which product they wish you to use to ensure your pet is getting the best possible care.

Dog won't eat renal dog food

Fishes

My 14 year old, 33 kg dog has renal failure but won't touch the renal food, either wet or dry recommended by my vet. She won't have the renal support paste either. At my wits end as she's fading before my eyes.
Going to try the Ipakitine but worried about the amount of powder required for her weight and whether she will touch her food with it added.
Wondered if this could be an alternative just for her to pick up a bit?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes you can give this liquid renal diet to be lapped/drunk if your dog needs it. However it is best to give solid food where possible, if your dog is struggling this much then we strongly advise you contact your vet to see if they can provide medications to assist this. The underlying cause to the inappetance could be nausia. If it is just that your dog is fussy then products like Ipaktiine or Pronefra can be used with your dog's normal diet.
