Tartar build-up on your dog’s teeth not only affects their appearance but can also impact on his or her wellbeing. After your dog finishes eating, bacteria will settle on the teeth resulting in a soft film called plaque. If this is not regularly removed, over time calcium which is naturally found in saliva will stick to the plaque turning it in to tartar also known as dental calculus. Once formed tartar cannot be removed by tooth brush or chewing and requires a scale and polish under veterinary supervision. ROYAL CANIN® Dental Care Medium kibble has a specific size shape and texture to encourage crunching and to provide a tooth brushing effect with each meal. Calcium chelators included in the kibble coating "trap" calcium, helping limit tartar formation. Don’t just take our word for it, ROYAL CANIN® Dental Care Medium’s results are a proven success with exclusive feeding resulting in up to 99% reduced tartar formation* ROYAL CANIN® Dental Care is available as dry kibble. Please follow the feeding guidelines based on your dog’s ideal adult bodyweight. Suitable for adult medium breed dogs (11-25kg) to help maintain dental health – complete nutrition balanced for long term feeding.

Brilliant product, saves trying to clean the dog's teeth. Was recommended by our vet after our dog had had his teeth cleaned in 2021, Certainly does the job and the dog loves it.

Mavroula eats this if there’s nothing else on offer. She only bites each piece once. Vet doesn’t consider it effective as she has developed gingivitis

Is this suitable for a 1 year old

Is this suitable for a 1 year old 24kg medium/large cross?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes this food is suitable for a 24kg medium breed dog. The breed recommendations are more related to kibble size, there are nutritional changes but they are only minor. I advise starting with the medium size and possibly going onto the large if your dog continues to grow.
