Description

Some dogs are sensitive to certain nutrients and may experience adverse food reactions. That’s why we created a food product for dogs experiencing allergies or nutrient intolerance. ROYAL CANIN® Canine Hypoallergenic Loaf is specially formulated with your dog’s needs in mind and comes in a 400g can. Thanks to the inclusion of a hydrolysed soya protein isolate, ROYAL CANIN® Canine Hypoallergenic Loaf contains a limited molecular weight for very low allergenicity.

ROYAL CANIN® Canine Hypoallergenic Loaf also contains a specially formulated complex of nutrients that combine to help support the natural protective barrier role of your dog’s skin to support optimal skin and coat health. When a food allergy or a food intolerance is suspected, your dog’s diet should be changed following the appropriate food transition period. Nutritional management with Hypoallergenic Loaf may be continued for the dog’s lifetime. It is recommended to divide the daily intake into 2 meals. As part of the ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Range, it is important that this product is only given to your pet when recommended by a veterinary professional.

ROYAL CANIN® Canine Hypoallergenic Loaf is not recommended in cases of acute pancreatitis or during gestation, lactation, or growth. To cater to each dog’s individual preferences, ROYAL CANIN® Canine Hypoallergenic is also available as dry food, with highly palatable kibble. If you’re considering mixed feeding, make sure you follow our feeding guidelines to ensure your dog gets an accurate amount of both wet and dry food for optimal benefit. At ROYAL CANIN® we’re committed to providing nutritional solutions to your pet’s needs. All of our products undergo an extensive quality control process in order to guarantee the optimum quality of food, as well as catering to your dog’s specific dietary requirements and lifestyle. This means that when your dog eats ROYAL CANIN® Canine Hypoallergenic Loaf, it’s getting a complete and balanced diet.

55 Hypoallergenic food for dog with IBS
Verified Purchase

By on 21 February 2024

My dog suffers from IBS and this is the only food I have tried that has settled her stomach. Whilst it is not the most appetising looking dog food on the market my dog does eat it and this is now the only food I give her. I tried the dried version but found that she was better on the wet food.

45 Damaged cans
Verified Purchase

By on 8 May 2022

So this is the second time I have ordered from viovet and each time I have received a couple of damaged. This time however there were 5! Two of the cans unusable and I have had to throw away as the can split open and food spoilt. It had leaked into the cardboard and smelt awful: I don’t normally ever leave feedback but am hoping this will help improve the packaging. Thank you

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding ROYAL CANIN® Canine Hypoallergenic Adult Wet Dog Food, including answers from our team.

Yeast

Catherine Casey-Malone

Is this food likely to make a yeast-fungal infection worse. Does this food contain yeast?

  • VioVet Staff

This food does not contain yeast and cannot cause a yeast or fungal infection. It is intended to help support dogs who are prone to food allergies, it is formulated to be far less likely to set off a food allergy. I recommend discussing with your vet about what is causing the yeast/fungal infection in order to treat this.

Feeding amounts

Caroline Crawte

I have tried all combinations of wet & dry food for my little collie-cross (rescued) and although she seems happy enough, her poo is often a mix of semi-solid and very runny (glutenous). She must be very uncomfortable and in pain at times.
I have had her for 4+ years now and have taken her regularly to the vet to sort this
but I am now at a loss as to how to sort this...
I would be grateful for any advice you can offer.
Regards, Carol Crawte

  • VioVet Staff

I recommend reading our blog on allergies, this has a useful section on food trials which could help your pet:
https://www.viovet.co.uk/blog/p3456-Allergies-in-cats-and-dogs---a-vet-guide
I strongly advise following your vets advice closely though as working out what food works etc requires a systematic well planned approach.

Can dog tinned Hypoallergenic be mixed with Z/d dry

Linda Marchant

I’ve been feeding my dog z/d dry food mixed with a little z/d tinned food. As I am unable to purchase z/d tinned anywhere, would it be possible to use the Hypoallergenic instead please?

  • VioVet Staff

The Hypoallergenic version is not completely anallergenic like the Hills Z/D. It is the best alternative but I strongly advising chatting with your vet to be certain it won't interfere with their treatment plan.
