PureFlax Flax Seed Oil contains essential fatty acids that may be lacking in your dog's diet. Many commercial foods do not provide the essential fatty acids (EFA) that your dog requires to maintain healthy skin and a glossy coat. With this supplement of crucial omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9, you are helping to support the maintenance of healthy joints, skin and coat, as well as helping promote a strong immune system.

PureFlax Flax Seed Oil is produced only in Yorkshire, from growing of the crop to the cold pressing of the seed. Absolutely nothing is added to this process, meaning the product is 100% natural.

Feeding guidelines

When you start feeding, begin with a little less than the lowest recommended administrative rate, and gradually increase up to the full amount over a few days. Take a week to increase up to the highest administrative rate e.g. for performance animals. Doing so will allow your horse or dog’s digestive function to adapt efficiently and make the most of the PureFlax Oil.

Dogs should be fed 1.25ml – 10ml depending on their size. PureFlax can be fed to dogs at the rate of 10ml per 10kg bodyweight.

This oil is excellent but I find it difficult to pour small amounts, the oil runs back down the bottle, it is easier to pour when there is little oil in the bottle .

What is the recommended daily dosage for adult dogs 40kilos +?

  • VioVet Staff

There is no hard and fast rule regarding dosage of flax oil but the higher the dose the more benefit your dog is likely to get. Ideally you would eventually give 10mls per day. However it is recommended to start with a lower dose (1 or 2mls initially) and increase the dose gradually over a week or so.
