Description

Peridale is available in capsules or granules and is used to increase the bulk of stools. It does this by absorbing moisture from the surrounding gut contents and helps to form a stool of the correct consistency for easy passage through the gut.

Peridale promotes peristalsis and helps to ensure the easy passage of a soft stool.

Capsules are intended to be used in cats and are given whole into the back of the mouth and swallowed. Peridale granules can be mixed with food, or placed dry on the back of the tongue. Loose granules are usually used in dogs but work just the same in cats.

PERIDALE® 98 % W/W GRANULES

Presentation

Orange-coloured granules containing sterculia 98 %.

Uses

Bulk promoting agent, exerting its effect mainly by a hydrophilic action. The sterculia in Peridale takes up as much as 60 times its own volume of water, forming a gelatinous mass. This increases the bulk of the intestinal contents, promotes peristalsis and helps to ensure the easy passage of a soft stool. Sterculia is an otherwise inert substance, not absorbed and so not exerting any systemic effect.
