11 month basett puppy

MRS MA KINGHAM

Would this food be good for my 11 month basett puppy nutritionally and how long should he stay on it before putting him on adult food thankyou

  • VioVet Staff

Yes this food is suitable for your pup. It is advised to switch onto an adult diet when your pet is fully grown, at around 12 to 24 months of age dependant on the breed. I would expect a Basset Hound to be fully grown at around 16 months of age.

When to change from PRO PLAN Puppy

Edmund

"Tess" is a beautiful yellow labrador bitch and in great condition due to PRO PLAN with the odd spoonful of tripe as advised by my breeder. When should I move her from the puppy food and what should the next diet be? Thank you!

  • VioVet Staff

Great to hear Tess is doing so well! You should switch to an adult dog food when your puppy is anywhere from 18 months to 24 months old. Large or giant breed puppies take a little longer to reach maturity, and many of them are still growing until they turn two years old. If Tess is a particularly large build labrador then I would wait the full 24 months.

My cockapoo is 10 months old when do I stop feeding her this puppy food and move onto something else?
