Description

Orijen Freeze Dried Tundra contains a selection of meat including Angus beef, wild boar, lamb, heritage pork and bison. This meat content includes the nutritious liver, tripe, marrow and cartilage which would be present in a wild diet, which avoids the need for extra synthetic ingredients to be added. There is also a small amount of fruit, berries and grass which, when combined with the meat content, is freeze-dried to lock in all the taste and goodness of the high quality ingredients.

Feeding guidelines

For your dog to enjoy Orijen’s amazing fresh food flavors to the fullest, rehydrate Orijen freeze dried foods by adding 1/4 cup (4 tbsp.) (60ml) of warm water per medallion, wait 3-6 minutes and serve.

I wish I could afford this as my dog's main food - I use it as an occasional treat. Very good quality, very easy to prepare, the dog loves it.

45 Very fussy chihuahua likes it
Verified Purchase

By on 6 May 2018

My 18 month chihuahua is very fussy with both dry food and meat (raw or tinned). As soon as I opened the bag he got excited and kept barking as me till it was ready. He licked the bowl clean looking for more, with dry food it takes him 4-7 days to eat 1 days worth of food ,although he's not underweight he stays on the lean side and I can feel his pelvic bones. I was looking for something to supplement his diet that was more on the natural side, I give him this once a week and so far he's eating it all, normally he stops eating anything new after first couple of meals. Only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't seem to soak much water up have to keep mushing it up to try to get water soaked up.

55 Superb Dog Food

Cannot speak too highly of these Orijen Frieze Dried Products.I have a Bulldog that was very difficult to feed and suffered from skin allergies. We worked our way through the various pet foods and then I came across an American dog food review site recommending the orijen products.
We have never looked back since and I feed one meal of this and one meal of the kibble. The frieze dried is totally eaten every time and we no longer have the skin issues and her coat looks superb.
My sister has a spaniel and she has switched to the this because her dog was crying for the product when we were preparing it and ate it.
The Frieze Dried is not cheap but it is a superb product that we cannot speak more highly of.

Medallions

Jan Vickery

  • VioVet customer since 2014
  • From: Devon, United Kingdom

I'm considering buying the freeze dried version of this food but need to know how it compares in price to the ordinary one. So, do you know (roughly!) how many medallions are contained in the 454g bag? I should be able to work out how long the bag will last given this information! Thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Jan,

In the 454g bag of food there are roughly 30 medallions.

I hope this helps.

Puppy

michele

is the freeze dried food suitable for a great
dane puppy from 8 weeks old+ weighing around 8 kilos at 7 1/2 weeks ?

  • VioVet Staff

This should be a great diet for your dog. Follow the feeding guidelines but if in doubt, feed less. Giant breeds suffer much less with many mobility and other problems throughout life if they grow slightly slowly and do not put on weight too quickly. This is usually the opposite of what people want to do with their new puppies, but it is healthier.
