Presentation

A cream coloured suspension containing 7.5% w/v levamisole hydrochloride and 12% w/v triclabendazole.

Uses

For the treatment and control of parasitic bronchitis, parasitic gastroenteritis and fasciolosis in cattle. When used at the recommended dose rate, Combinex Cattle is effective against the mature and developing immature stages of levamisole sensitive Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Nematodirus, Bunostomum and Oesophagostomum species in the gastrointestinal tract, and Dictyocaulus spp. in the lungs. Combinex Cattle is effective against developing immature and adult Ostertagia, but is not active against inhibited larvae. It is also highly effective against all stages of triclabendazole susceptible Fasciola hepatica from two week old early immature to adult fluke.

Dosage and administration

Combinex Cattle is given as an oral drench and is suitable for use through most types of automatic drenching guns. It can be safely administered to young or pregnant cattle, cattle not producing milk for human consumption or dry cattle.
For lactating cattle, see under contra-indications.
Recommended dose rate: 7.5 mg levamisole hydrochloride/kg bodyweight and 12 mg triclabendazole/kg bodyweight. This is equivalent to 1 ml Combinex Cattle per 10 kg bodyweight.

  200 kg - 20 ml

Contra-indications, warnings, etc

When the product is used at the recommended dose rate and animals are not overly stressed, side-effects are rare. At higher dosages, transient side-effects due to levamisole may occur (i.e. salivation and slight muscle tremors).
Do not treat simultaneously with products containing organophosphorus compounds.
Assess bodyweight as accurately as possible before calculating the dosage. Intensive use or misuse of anthelmintics can give rise to resistance. To reduce this risk dosing programmes should be discussed with your Veterinary Adviser. Efficacy of this product against roundworms is reduced if levamisole-resistant strains are present. Efficacy of this product against liver fluke is reduced if triclabendazole-resistant strains are present.
For animal treatment only. Keep out of the reach of children. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash hands and exposed skin before meals and after work. Wash splashes from eyes and skin immediately. Take off immediately any contaminated clothing.
Do not contaminate ponds, waterways and ditches with the products or used container.
Dispose of used containers in accordance with guidance from your local waste regulation authority.
Levamisole can cause idiosyncratic reactions and serious blood disorders in a very small number of people. If symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting or abdominal discomfort are experienced when using the product, or sore mouth/throat or fever occur shortly afterwards, then medical advice should be sought immediately.
Withdrawal Periods
