A cream coloured aqueous suspension for oral administration containing 0.1% w/v ivermectin and 5% w/v triclabendazole.
FASIMEC DUO S is a broad spectrum parasiticide for sheep over 3 months of age for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal nematodes, liver fluke, lungworms and nasal bots and the associated diseases.
Gastrointestinal nematodes (adult and immature)
Haemonchus contortus, Teladosagia (Ostertagia) circumcincta, Trichostrongylus spp, Cooperia spp, Nematodirus spp including N. battus, Strongyloides papillosus, Oesopagostomum spp, and adult Chabertia ovina.
Inhibited larval stages of Haemonchus contortus and Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) circumcincta are also controlled.
Liver Fluke (mature, immature and early immature stages down to less than 1 week of age):
Lungworms (adult and immature)
Nasal Bots (all stages)
FASIMEC DUO S is given as an oral suspension and is suitable for use through most types of automatic drenching guns. FASIMEC DUO S should only be given to young, pregnant, lactating or stressed sheep following a risk/benefit analysis.
FASIMEC DUO S is recommended to be administered once to susceptible ewes pre-lambing (in winter) and once to susceptible ewes and replacement lambs in autumn. The administration of product should only be repeated following veterinary advice on the local epidemiological situation. If treatment is to be repeated, a minimum of 9 week interval must be observed in order to avoid accumulation of residues.
Recommended dose rate: 2ml FASIMEC DUO S PER 10kg BODYWEIGHT
FASIMEC DUO S is for oral administration using a suitably calibrated dosing gun.
The dose rate is 2ml / 10kg bodyweight, equivalent to 0.2mg ivermectin and 10mg triclabendazole per kg bodyweight. If animals are to be treated collectively rather than individually, they should be grouped according to their bodyweight and dosed accordingly, in order to avoid under- or over-dosing.
The container should be shaken thoroughly before use. Drenching equipment should be cleaned before and after use.

Assess bodyweight as accurately as possible before calculating the dosage. Anthelmintics are agents that destroy or result in the expulsion of susceptible parasitic worms. Care should be taken to avoid the following practices because they increase the risk of development of resistance and could ultimately result in ineffective therapy:
• Too infrequent and repeated use of anthelmintics from the same class, over an extended period of time;
• Under dosing which may be due to underestimation of bodyweight, misadministration of the product or lack of calibration of the dosing device (if any).
Suspected clinical cases of resistance to anthelmintics should be further investigated using appropriate tests (e.g. Faecal Egg Count reduction Test). Where the results of the test(s) strongly suggest resistance to a particular anthelmintic, an anthelmintic belonging to another pharmacological class and having a different mode of action should be used.
Resistance to ivermectin/triclabendazole has been reported in Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) circumcincta in sheep. Therefore the use of this product should be based upon local (regional, farm) epidemiological information about susceptibility of the Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) circumcincta and recommendations on how to limit further selection for resistance to anthelmintics. Efficacy of this product against liver fluke is reduced if triclabendazole resistant strains are present.
Extra-label use in dogs should be avoided as severe adverse reactions may occur. In common with other avermectins, certain breeds of dogs, such as Collies are especially sensitive to ivermectin contained in Fasimec, and particular care should be taken to avoid accidental consumption of the product.
