What size are these tablets

S Skinner

Hi my cat won’t eat tablets in food whole or crumbled so I have to give her twice daily dose down her throat . This was easy with the nisamox 50 mg tablet but now that it discontinued my vet suggested noroclav instead but I need it to be small enough to take as easily as the nisamox . Can you tell me the diameter size please . Thank you

  • VioVet Staff

The 50mg tablets are 8mm in diameter. They can be halved easily if you are struggling to give them. It is very likely this diameter will be similar to that of nisamox as the ingredients are the same.

If your dog will not accept the tablets whole then it would be best to crumble it and mix it in with food.

Yes if there is sufficient reason to believe that antibiotic is needed, then this is generally a safe and effective one to choose.
