It's early days yet to tell if it has made a difference to horse's hooves however my farrier uses it for his thoroughbreds.
On the downside it doesn't come with a measure or a pump so easily spills when pouring a 5 litre container so I had to buy a bottle and two measures not to waste it

There are so many products on the market offering to promote hoof growth - it's hard knowing which to choose. I picked this product for its good ingredients, and we are now on the second tub. Although hoof-growth is a slow process, we are pleased with the improvement shown so far, and our farrier agrees!

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding NAF Five Star Profeet for Horses, including answers from our team.

Profeet-laminitis?

Kalie

is it suitable for a horse who has had laminitis in the past?

  • VioVet Staff

This is debatable. Most of the ingredients are suitable and helpful, but it contains quite a lot of dextrin. This is a type of carbohydrate and it is this class of foods which are best restricted in horses prone to laminitis. Therefore it depends partly on what else you are feeding. You could get away with it if the carbohydrate content of the rest of the foods you give is not high, but it depends on the proportions of the other things in the diet. Ideally talk to your vet about this. (If there has been no recent laminitis and you have been giving some carbs recently anyway, then the risk from this would be very low indeed.)

Whats the differance

julie watson

which is best pellets or powder naf pro feet

  • VioVet Staff

They both have the same basic ingredients and have the same effect. It is just a matter of personal preference and indeed which form you find easiest to get into your horse (if it is fussy).
