Description

Five Star Oestress from NAF is a nutritious blend of herbal extracts which promotes aid for mares during season. The ingredients also act as a general supplement for the mare's hormonal system. As well as making her relax, NAF Five Star Oestress supports her system against anxiety and muscle tension. It also contains natural antioxidants to flush the system of toxins.

Available in both powder and liquid form, NAF Five Star Oestress should be fed daily through the spring and summer and can be incresed in accordance with the oestrus cycle. It can, however, be used all year round.

Maintenance 10-20 1-2

One 20ml scoop provides approximately 10g of Five Star Oestress powder. The loading rate may be used to establish her on Oestress and also during the peak time of her season. Maintenance levels may be adjusted to suit the individual and are not necessarily related to bodyweight. Not recommended for pregnant mares. Recommended to discontinue use on broodmares two months prior to covering. Suitable for geldings showing ‘riggy’ behaviour.

55 Oestress liquid supplement

This product has made a huge difference to the sensitivity of my mare. In the spring she finds being tacked up very uncomfortable. Oestress has greatly reduced this problem.

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding NAF Five Star Oestress Calming Supplement for Horses, including answers from our team.

Will this work for a extremely anxious mare?

Aimee

My mare is extremely anxious and has sever seperation issues, will this help her relax at all?

  • VioVet Staff

This product is a calming supplement so should help with anxieties such as separation issues, however calming supplements generally only provide a mild effect. If the anxiety is severe then you may not see it resolve the problem. I advise trying a calming supplement such as this but also treating the underlying anxiety with behaviour training.
The Oestress supplement is more targeted for mares that are having season related stresses. I advise checking out NAF Five Star Magic if it is purely anxiety you are treating.

Powder or liquid?

Lizzie

Hi, is there a difference in the strength of product between the liquid and powder? Is one better than the other or just personal preference? The mare in question has painful ovaries and is feeling tender and grumpy, looking for something to soothe her so she can be ridden again! Thanks.

  • VioVet Staff

The choice between the two is basically personal preference. General advise to horse owners is to start the mare on the liquid as due to the solution extraction process for the herbs, we do find herbs in a liquid form become active within the system slightly quicker but the strength of the two is the same.
