A safe and effective way to stop bleeding, the Styptic Pencil is a rounded wand that contains powerful agents that stem blood flow. With a large flat end, this quality styptic pencil should be placed and pressed gently onto cuts and wounds and held for several seconds. The super effective chemicals in the styptic pencil then cause vasoconstriction that reduces and stops blood flow. Ideal for use when nails are cut too short, the styptic pencil is also suitable for use on minor cuts and wounds. Do not use on large or deep cuts

Bought this just incase I cut too much off my yorkies black nails. Luckily I didn't need it.

Useful to have handy, for human or animal (each with their own pencil!) for minor scrapes, to help stop small bleeds

Rubbish, it broke as soon as I took the lid off. It’s like a piece of chalk.

I bought this to put in my grooming kit, but I'm not sure it will be the tool for the job, if I need to stop a nail from bleeding. Time will tell.

I always keep a styptic pencil as it stops bleeding, like when I clip the dogs nails and make a mistake and the claw bleeds a little because with black claws you cannot see the blood line, I just wet the pencil and apply and within a few minutes all bleeding stops. I believe it does sting a little when first applied.

Is this safe to use on Hamster, Cats and Dogs? Thanks,
It is fine to use on cats and dogs. It can also be used on hamsters with care, but only on very small wounds, or on damaged nails.
