Medetor (Medetomidine) is a potent α2 adrenergic receptor agonist licensed for intramuscular use in cats and intramuscular and intravenous use in dogs. Medetor is used in cats and dogs for sedation, premedication to anaesthesia and with ketamine for short acting general anaesthesia in cats.
Maximal effect within 15-20 minutes with clinical effects lasting 30-180 minutes (dose dependent)
