This product has greatly improved my dogs quality of life. She had previously had surgery twice on a misplaced kneecap and was very stiff all the time.Since using magnacare she can run around like a dog her age (5) should be able to do and although she still suffers from occasional stiffness and pain ,it is greatly reduced.

My 15 yr old Golden Retriever Woody has gained a second life since using Magnacare. He used to be groggy but I can tell the difference it has made to him. I have been using it for about 18mths now (or rather he has) and I am ever grateful as all I want is for Woody to be as comfortable as he ever can be. Quite tempted to try some myself after seeing difference in him:0)

Hello
Just wondering how long will a tub of Magnacare Joint Supplement last for a 27kg dog if given daily?
Thanks
Hi Aileen,
One 500g tub gives 50 days supply for medium to large dogs or 100 days for small ones.
I hope this helps.

I have a 10 year old westie has the usual complaints, his medication includes: fortekor, vetmedin, he also has optimune for dry eye and have been giving him yumega oil for his skin and piriton during the summer months. I have started giving him cosequin as recommended by the vet for his joints is this any better than the Magnacare Joint Supplement? also I noticed his stiffness getting worse since I stopped using the yumega oil, does this help with the joints or should I give him salmon oil?. I have ordered yumove can this be used as well as the cosequin or not. I don't want to over dose him.
Many thanks
A Hyde
Cosequin, Yumove and Magnacare Joint Suplement are all similar products with similar ingredients. All of them could boast of advantages over the others and since there have been no scientific tests to compare them, nobody can actually say if one is better than another. They are all regarded as safe and you are unlikely to run into any trouble if you give more than one of them to a dog. I would say that Yumove is proving to be the most popular at the moment and do that is perhaps the best endorsement of the effect it has (see the reviews on our website) but more than that it is impossible to say.
As for your dog's skin, I would give Yumega personally, but Salmon oil would also be a reasonable choice. Probably no need to give both. These might provide some slight benefit to the joints too, but that is not at all certain. They can be given along with any of the joint supplements.

My 10year old Egyptian Mau has improved his agility since eating some of his dosed Magnacae, and his coat condition has also improved. However he always leaves as much as he can, whilst eating the pouch catfood round it. How can I give him the Magnacare when he will eat all the dose? he is a slow eater and I have to remove other younger cats from the area to make sure he eats the food and not them!
The only way to do this is to offer the supplement in a smaller amount of food, mix it in well, and use hunger to encourage him to eat it. You can offer more food later in the day when the medicated portion has been eaten. The more well-fed your cat feels, the more fussy he will be with his food. This makes it difficult to control things because obviously you want your cat to be well fed, but that makes him less inclined to eat anything which is not 100% appetising and tasty. Many cats would be better off for eating a bit less anyway (much like us really)!
