This is a little flimsy and you certainly need to supervise its use. Not suitable for a cheer and I would hesitate to spread anything too tasty as Tara has already pulled some bits off it to get to her food.

Max is a very anxious dog, especially when we leave him for any length of time. He has been given distraction items whilst we have been training him to accept being left but he has a tendency to tear them apart. We were recommended the lickimat and have now tried it. Amazingly it works. Max adores peanut butter and if we smooth the butter over the mat it a) allows us to leave the house as Max is so occupied he forgets us and b) has reduced the noise he still occasionally makes when he realises we have gone.

As my dog is now 14 and has arthritis, he now struggles to walk far. Gone are the days of long walks and throwing a ball. I ensure he has little ways of receiving treats which keep him busy and this little mat is perfect. I either use mashed banana, yogurt or a little peanut butter and he licks it for ages. I'm lucky in that he doesn't attempt to chew it.
