Description

Leucillin Antiseptic Spray for Animal wounds and injuries is specially formulated for the equine and pet care market, providing a high strength healthcare solution you can rely on. It is a 100% safe, non-toxic, one-step topical pathogen control spray.

Leucillin, specially formulated for the health and skincare of your pet, is a revolutionary anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal spray. Leucillin is a new approach to animal healthcare, giving owners and healthcare professionals the confidence to treat and manage minor skin problems and conditions effectively and reliably — a must have first aid tool for all animal owners.

Leucillin is a unique antiseptic which cleverly mimics the body’s own immune system, replicating the leukocytes (white blood cells), a naturally produced chemical used to fight infection caused by invading pathogens (germs). This product is a natural antiseptic, destroying harmful germs on contact allowing the skin to heal naturally.

Leucillin provides you with a safe, skin pH neutral, non-toxic, non-irritant solution for use on all skin types. It kills germs that can cause infection, irritation, dry, itchy, flaky, or smelly problematic skin often associated with allergies, and provides you with a powerful solution to combat all types of infection.

Leucillin has a wide and varied range of uses and capabilities within all areas of animal healthcare and is suitable for all mammals, birds, and reptiles — from cats to Cayman, dogs to degus, hamsters to horses.

Leucillin VIRUCIDAL Update
coronaviruses and COVID-19

Due to the influx of requests regarding Leucillin’s disinfectant efficacy against viruses, we updated the relevant tests against covid-19 with leading microbiology contract research organisation and government approved BluTest Laboratories.

We are delighted to share with you that Leucillin has passed these tests and therefore it is announced as effective against all enveloped viruses as defined in EN 14476:2013 + A2:2019 Annex A*

Leucillin is effective against all coronaviruses and Covid-19, providing a pet-safe alternative for protection against animal cross contamination, as an anti-viral cleanser for the topical application to coat, paws, and muzzle liberally.

We would like to thank you for your patience on this matter as testing and gaining the correct approvals for public and pet safety does take time.

55 Leucillin works like magic

This product was recommended to us by a good friend. We've had trouble with interdigital cysts on our bulldog for years and they have taken weeks to heal and sometimes we've needed to go to the vet for help, which is expensive. Leucillin has been a godsend. Improvement is obvious very quickly. Dog stops licking and fussing almost immediately. Most are completely healed in a few days. So, so happy to have found this.

Very like the pink one you can buy, but a lot cheaper . It cleaned up my dogs paw and it healed really well. My dog didn't keep licking at it which helped . Will use again.

Shelf life

Sally

What is the shelf life of this product. I’m trying to decide what size bottle to get so need to know if there is a long expiry date

  • VioVet Staff

There is a small label on the back of the bottle and this label is put on at the point of bottling which gives 18 months shelf life, whether opened or unopened but it is essential to store correctly, ie out of direct sunlight and below 25°.

CAT ACNE

Charlotte

Will this help my cat with his acne under his chin?

  • VioVet Staff

This spray will help clean the site so if an infection is part of the Acne then it may help. It is best to discuss this with your vet to determine whether an infectious cause is something to consider.

Yeast infection

Luke

My dog won't stop itching and biting herself been told this could help?

  • VioVet Staff

Leucillin will help disinfect the area of skin and so help control any infection. However it is possible there is an underlying cause to the itching, such as allergies. It is unlikely the Leucillin will resolve this itching and it is advised to see your vet to discuss how to control this. It is also worth ensuring your pet is up to date with flea treatment as this can be a common cause of itching.

Use on a Syrian hamster?

Tabitha

My hamster has a bald patch on his back. His skin doesn't seem obviously irritated or damaged but I've had a vet recommend chlorhexidine and miconozole to prevent bacteria and yeast growth resulting from excess moisture if he's overcrowding, and lidocaine and hydrocortisone to help with any itching and/inflammation. I'm concerned though about finding a product that won't harm my hamster either if he licks the treated area or by wetting his fur and making him cold

  • VioVet Staff

Leucillin is safe for use on a hamster. It does not contain miconazole or chlorhexidine so you should check it's use is ok past your vet first, we would not want anything to interfere with their advised treatment plan.
If your hamster does lick the area then it will only be in very small quantities which should cause no issues. Leucillin should not be used in the eyes or other sensitive areas so you should be careful when applying it. You may wash to spray it onto a cloth/sponge and dab onto the site to avoid a general spray landing on sensitive areas.

Horses eyes

Mellissa Morris

Can this product be used in horses eyes?

  • VioVet Staff

This is a skincare product and is not safe for use in the eyes. It is advised to use products intended for use in the eyes instead, such as VF Ophthalmic Eye Drops.

Itches on cobs legs

Trish

My cob has got itchy patch on his left fore and right hind which he either scratches with his other hoof or bites it and makes it bleed. What would be best antiseptic spray. I cream them regularly to get rid of scabs and he is clipped out with no feathers. He’s had this problem for a long time and it was on all four legs. I have managed to get it down to just these two now but can’t seem to clear it up.
Many thanks.

  • VioVet Staff

Leucellin is safe for use on this area and will provide anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties to the area. It is likely there is an underlying cause to the itch though and any infection is a secondary issue. This could be allergy related and it is worth discussing it further with your vet if you wish to fully resolve it.
Leucellin will work well as part of a treatment plan though to prevent the issue progression.

Ringworm

Nicole

Does this clear ringworm from cats skin?

  • VioVet Staff

This is an anti-fungal spray and ringworm is a fungus, so theoretically it should help kill ringworm. However it is not licensed to treat ringworm on cats. It is advised to use a licensed ringworm treatment, those licensed for use in cats are prescription only so you will need to contact your vet for advice on this.

Good for mice ?

georgina

is this safe to be used on a mouse with an open wound ?

  • VioVet Staff

Luecellin should not be used on open wounds, it is mainly intended for small wounds or use on skin. It is best to see your vet if your pet has an open wound as this may need stitching closed.

Fangled ear infection

Margaret

Can this be used in dogs ear?

  • VioVet Staff

This product is suitable for use on skin but I would avoid using it down the ear canals themselves as this can be quite a sensitive area. If your dog has itchy ears this could be allergy related and I would advise contacting your vet for more advice. If you are noticing they are quite waxy then an ear cleaner is a good option to try, such as Otodine. If you need any advice on ear cleaning then please contact our customer services on [email protected].
