A gentle but effective salve. Used on my horse who has sensitive skin. Very pleased with results.

I bought this cream two weeks ago to put on any new mud fever scabs that appear on my white-socked TB. Washing with a warm water/iodine solution, drying thoroughly and then putting a dab of this on seems to help keep scabs at bay. The pot is small and so the contents don’t last long, but worth it for the efficacy of the salve.

My horse is prone to scabs on back of fetlocks and had cellulitis caused by a wound. Used cream prescribed by vet until wound healed, and was recommended to try silver so found this product. Used over 2 days and can see an improvement already. Think this will be useful come winter too.

after the wound left a mark on the forehead, is it possible to use a little to restore the skin?
This product is for use in horses only so I cannot advise on it's safe use in humans. You are best contacting your local pharmacist as unfortunately we cannot assist regarding human treatments.

My yearling has mud fever… no mud! It’s on his white legs and not his dark ones. Does this cream help to cure?
Silver ointment provides an antibacterial layer to help treat and protect the skin. Mud fever is most commonly caused by a bacterial infection and so it will help treat the condiiton. It is important to clip and clean the affected area too where possible, applying the ointment after the area is cleaned and dried. I recommend reading our blog on Mud Fever for more information.

Can you use silver cream as well as flamazine at the same time. E.g. alternate between the two creams every other day? Are there any chances of negative reactions if using both consecutively?
Leovet Silver Ointment and Flamazine both contain Silver compounds to provide antibacterial protection. They are similar and should not interfere with each other if used in this way.
Flamazine is a human medication so you should run any use of it past your vet. It should only be used on animals alongside veterinary prescription.

Would this be helpful for some sweet itch sores?? I’m trying to get a handle of my mates itchy forelock
Yes this cream will help disinfect and soothe the affected area. It will also provide a barrier to prevent biting and allow the skin to heal. You will need to prevent against the underlying cause of this though and use products to repel midges.

Is ionic silver suitable for open wounds?
Silver ointments like this are great at providing an anti-bacterial barrier for the skin. However they can interfere with wound healing if used in an open wound so it is only advised they are used on intact skin. This skin can be damaged, for example by an infection, but it should not be deep and open if using silver ointment.

Can this be used on humans and dogs please?
This item is only licensed and tested when used on horses. I would not advise using this product on people or dogs.
A great alternative which would be safe is Leucillin.

My french bulldog has itchy upper and lower eye lids( we have ruled out Mites).
Would it be safe to use so near to her eye? Thankyou
This product is only intended for use on the skin of horses, I would not recommend using it on your dog and especially near the eyes.
If you are looking for a product to help soothe eye problems then I recommend an eye lubricant such as Optixcare. This can be safely used in and around the eye.
I also advised contacting your vet, your dog's eyes should not be itchy and this could have an underlying cause such as allergic skin disease.

Hi.
Could you please let me have a complete ingredients list. As I would like to use your product in our racing kennels, but I have to have the ingredients checked by the GBGB. To just be sure there is nothing on their ever changing banned substance used in it.
Thanks so much
Kay

Can this be use on rabbit's sore hocks?
This product is for use in horses only so I cannot advise on it's safe use in rabbits. If you are looking for an antibacterial wound spray/cream for rabbits then I recommend F10 Germicidal Barrier Ointment.

Will this hell treat shell rot on my mal turtle?
This cream is only intended for use in horses. I cannot comment on it's safety in turtles, however Colloidal silver (the active ingredient within) is often used as part of a treatment plan for Shell Rot in turtles. You will need to contact your vet for a good treatment plan anyway so I would advise checking with them that this product is safe in your pet's case.
