Description

Dog Rocks is an innovative approach to the common problem of burn patches in lawns and flower beds. Using 100% natural ingredients, Dog Rocks are a mineral based compound to be placed in your dog's drinking water, with results beginning to be recognised within five weeks. Dog Rocks do not alter the urine pH balance of your dog, whilst they do provide an effective solution to urine scorching. The rocks must be replaced every 2 months to ensure they continue to work effectively.

One 200g pack is for one dog/water bowl. If you have additional dogs and water bowls you will need 200g per bowl.

I have used these before and they do work on the lawn, it stops the dogs urine burning the grass so you don’t get brown patches all over.

I have been using these rocks as advised with no outcome. My grass has urine burns all over and it’s a mess.

Not vioVets fault but I paid nearly £30 for 3 rocks… and they don’t work. Need I say more.

55 Best supplier by far!

I've bought dog rocks from other suppliers before and they didn't stop lawn urine burns from my spayed staffie girl Lola. VioVet dog rocks work consistently to keep my garden patch free. I would not buy from anywhere else.

Safe for puppies?

Hannah Saccoccio

Are these safe to use at any age? We have a 10 week old whippet Pup.

Thanks

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Hannah

Thanks for your question. Yes it is fine for you to use these for your puppy. We would suggest ordering the smaller sized rocks for dogs up to 7kg.

Hope this helps

Dog Rocks

Claire

What exactly do "dog rocks" do inside the dogs tummy/kidneys ?! If it doesn't Alter the ph balance (like the product says) then what exactly does it do? Is it healthy for the dog? I am wondering if it's to do with hormones as its only females that have the scorching problem?

  • VioVet Staff

I think it has nothing to do with hormones. Bitches tend to cause the problem just because they often produce a large amount of urine in one "puddle" on a lawn. Males tend to do smaller amounts more frequently and often not in the open expanse of a lawn, so the difference comes from that. Male urine is just as bad as female urine for scorching plants but they place it differently. The effect of the rocks is supposed to be on the nitrate content of the drinking water and hence the urine produced. I would not have expected this to make very much difference to the scorching effect of the urine, but most people do report an improvement when using the product, so that cannot be ignored.

Cat urine

Philippa

Would these have the same effect if used for cats ?

  • VioVet Staff

Dog Rocks can be used by cats with great effect and in the same way. They are not marketed for cats as it is impossible to ensure they only drink from the bowl with the Rocks in. Cats wander in ways a dog can’t and there is no way of knowing where else they drink from. Unfortunately there are no benefits to the cat urine smell – it makes no difference at all.
