My farrier was really pleased how much my horse's feet had grown after one tub!

I bought an Oldenburg filly with awfully brittle, cracked, flat feet and she had a reoccurring abscess. My farrier recommended this alongside KB hoof dressing and her feet are in fantastic condition now and we have had a fair few compliments. Have to use the formula for a month or so before you get your benefits but I would recommend it.

55 Kevin Bacon Hoof Formula

I have a Hanovarian mare who has shocking hooves. She is always loosing shoes and unfortunately normally takes half her foot with the shoe! She had developed a quarter crack that seemed to be getting worse regardless of what I did until it finally sent her lame. A friend of mine said she had an ex racer who had similar problems and had tried Kevin Bacons Hoof Formula. As a last resort I thought I would give it a go.
I can only say the results were amazing! Not only is she back in full work and no sign of lameness the crack is growing out and not reforming. When I first told my farrier he was very sceptical but he too has agreed there is a marked improvement in her hoof structure. The soles previously chalky are now nice and waxey she has pulled one shoe rather than 3 in the last 4 months and lost no foot. The hoof is growing at an increased rate and the wall seems stronger, with a little luck and more Formula the crack will have gone within the next 8 weeks. I have tried many things with her and kept rigid regimes but this seems to be doing the trick along with a good farrier. I have been using this product for 3 months and consider the cost to be money well spent approx £1.50 per day for a sound and comfortable horse. In addition the service from Viovet is efficent and extremely quick with an added bonus of free delivery.

Can I feed with formular4 feet

Maddy

My horse has very brittle feet and slightly cracked can I feed it with formular4 feet or would that be pointless?

  • VioVet Staff

I would choose one or the other as an in feed supplement. You could try using the Kevin Bacon hoof dressing though which can be very helpful if the feet are brittle.

I want a supplement that doesn't hit up my horse

Flaking hooves

Will Kevin Bacon hoof formula suit a happy hacker. Who does a little dressage but isn't one that needs lighting up. The description on the products suggests equine athletes and high proteins.

  • VioVet Staff

This supplement should be fine for your horse. The amount of protein is unlikely to make your horse hot and I have not heard reports of excitability on this supplement before. That said it is difficult to say how each individual horse will react. The best thing is to try the supplement for a month and see if it works for your horse.
