For dogs that love life, joint degeneration can have a huge impact on their physical and mental well-being. While not all joint problems are preventable, involving joint aid supplements is a sensible investment for the future, as these contain the key ingredients needed for joint tissue repair and renewal. In fact, many people now include joint supplements as a staple part of their dog’s diet, whether or not there is an existing problem.

Extending VioVet’s service of care to pets everywhere, we have developed ‘Joint Force®,’ our own branded joint care supplement. ‘Joint Force’ offers high quality daily nutrition that is cost-effective and for those who are unable to be in for parcels, the pack of 120 is uniquely packaged to fit through your letterbox.

Additional Feeding Guidelines

If your dog is over 7 years old or showing signs of stiffness, use twice the daily amount for 4-6 weeks and then reduce to the above quantities. If your dog requires more than one tablet, we recommend giving half of them in the morning, and the other half in the evening.

Consult your vet before feeding to a pregnant or lactating bitch.

Why use Joint Force®?

Joints are specialised structures which allow a range of movements and endure a lot of stress from everyday use. When joints become damaged over time, the loss of mobility and pain can greatly reduce a dog's quality of life and activity levels.

Supplementation is a popular method of maintaining joint health, intended to extend a dog's period of mobility and comfort. It is believed that as many as 1 in 5 dogs could benefit from a dietary supplement, so we have developed Joint Force with both your dog's needs and your pocket in mind.

Joint Force has been formulated to provide a cost effective and unique combination of 9 high quality nutrients, believed to be beneficial in the following areas when fed daily.

Glucosamine HCl is an important building block and major constituent of all joint components, cartilage in particular.

High quality Chondroitin is found naturally in the Green Lipped Mussel and is key to maintaining cartilage elasticity and promoting the formation of new joint structures.

Manganese is known to activate many enzymes involved in tissue repair and maintenance. For instance, collagen has great tensile strength and is essential for strong connective tissues, including ligaments which hold the bones in the joint together.

Chondroitin provides cartilage with its vital shock-absorbing quality to protect the joints from impacts. Its number of functions help to slow the deterioration of cartilage.

MSM is a rich source of sulphur, with many roles beneficial to joint health. It is believed to work in combination with Glucosamine to inhibit joint degeneration and support recovering tissues.

Hyaluronic Acid is a vital component of synovial fluid, the lubricant between joint surfaces. HA gives the fluid its cushioning properties and allows friction-free movement.

Antioxidants Vitamins C and E work together to minimise the harmful effects of free radicals generated during exercise.

Turmeric has been used by many cultures for hundreds of years and is thought to boast both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help with joint health.

Green Lipped Mussel is a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids, widely used as supplements for their anti-inflammatory properties. Omega-3 fatty acids also act by inhibiting the conversion of Omega-6 fatty acids into harmful agents that drive inflammatory reactions.

Boswellia serrata is traditionally used in herbal remedies for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Each of the above areas contributes towards an overall level of activity a dog can achieve. The longer joint structure and integrity is maintained, the longer our dogs will be able to remain supple and comfortable.

Each dog will respond as an individual to any supplementation but Joint Force ingredients have been carefully selected, based on both scientific reasoning and traditional use, to give them the best chance of feeling the benefits.

What is Letterbox Friendly Packaging?

Joint Force® 120 tablets are specially packed into a slim, flat container, rather than a round tub, so that your order can fit through any standard letterbox, saving you a trip to the post office or trying to remember which neighbour might be in to take it for you! With Joint Force, you know your dog's tablets will be waiting safely inside for you when you return home.

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Joint ForceĀ® for Dogs, including answers from our team.

I have a 10yr whippet, is it best to start her on Joint force or Joint Force Plus? She is a bit stiff now and is not able to jump around so much.
Thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

If your dog is 10 years old then this does count as Senior, Joint Force Plus is advised as the product to go for in Senior dogs if this is possible.

Ann Carrington

Is this tablet palatable to dogs? Is it dry or chewy?

  • VioVet Staff

These tablets are liver flavoured and so are palatable to dogs. It is in a dry tablet form, if you wish for a chew-like product then I advise checking out Joint Force Soft Chews.

Joint force

Lorraine rees

What is the difference between joint force and joint force plus please?

  • VioVet Staff

There are 3 main differences:

  • a higher concentration of green lipped mussel in joint force plus, the source of chondroitin

  • added fish oil to provide Omega Fatty Acids

  • added black pepper powder (this helps the body use the turmeric more efficiently)

Joint Force and turmeric

Can I give Joint Force to my arthritic Staffie who is already on Turmeric and yumove, I would change yumove to this if possible.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes, Joint Force is a great idea to help your Staffie with arthritis. You can stop both the YuMove and Turmeric if you switch to Joint Force as it contains ingredients from both of these.

My mom is considering switching me to these from the leading brand I am on ( particularly as she has seen a marked improvement in me on Renew Me. Personally Iā€™m not keen on the taste but she hides it in a sardine so all great :) ) any woof ā€¦ She couldnā€™t see in the info how many I would require a day of this Joint Force ( told her to get glasses as itā€™s probably there ) so she knows what pack size to consider. I weigh 37kg. Thanks in advance.

  • VioVet Staff

Thanks for your query. A 37kg dog will need 3 tablets daily of Joint Force.

Can i give tablet at night before sleep

Hi, can you tell me the best time in the day to give tablet to dog, at the moment i give her tablet at night when i go to bed, that way its in her system to obsorb for 8 hours over night, as i found when i gave the tablet with her meal she would do a pooh 15 /20 minutes later, which wouldnt leave much time for tablet to give her the benifits of the tablet. So am i doing the right thing by giving at night before bed, that way tablet has time to obsorb in her and give her the benefits. Thankyou

  • VioVet Staff

You can give Joint Force any time, whenever is easier for your routine. It normally takes around 8 hours or more for food to pass through your dog into the faeces, the defaecation you are seeing straight after food is likely habitual and is representative of an earlier meal.

Joint force puppy ?

Vanessa Prychidko

  • VioVet customer since 2015
  • From: Shropshire, United Kingdom

I have two Samoyeds, one is 11 yrs and takes joint force the other 6 months , can he take joint force or is he too young ?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes your 6 month old pup can start taking Joint Force safely, as long as you follow the packaging guidelines on doseage.

11 November 2021 at 8:55am

Does this product contain omega 3 fatty acids, if not can you recommend a product that can be given in addition to this for these?

  • VioVet Staff

This does not contain Omega 3 FAs but the Joint Force Plus version does, I recommend using this instead if you wish to supplement with Omega 3 FAs too.
If you are comfortable with the original Joint Force and do not wish to change then I advise using EpiGlow alongside this. It is primarily aimed at skin but is an Omega 3/6 FA supplement.

  • VioVet Staff

Hip dysplasia

Roseann Thompson

Can my puppy take these to help with his hip dysplasia

  • VioVet Staff

Yes these are safe for use with hip dysplasia, in fact they are recommended for conditions like this. Hip Dysplasia often leads to secondary arthritic changes in the joint which supplements like Joint Force help to support.
