55 Excellent diarrhoea relief!

My little Baxter suffers with indigestion all his life, having occasional outbreaks. During his life we tried different meds. Fancy paste with gut bacteria makes it worse. While on holiday last summer we bought this med in local pharmacy, and it worked a treat. His tummy settled in a day. It’s a must in his cupboard since!

Safe for cats diagnosed with Cystisis

Iqz

Hello,

My cat has been diagnosed with cystisis (calcium crystal found in urine). As this medication contains calcium carbonate is it safe to give my cat this medication for mild diarrhoea? He is 18 months old.

Thank you

  • VioVet Staff

This depends on the exact cause of your cat's cystitis. If it is purely stress related then this should not be an issue, however if crystals/stones or other issues are the cause then it may be a problem. It is best to discuss this with your vet to be safe as they will know the cause of the cystitis.

What's the active ingredient?

Adrian

Does this product contain loperamide? I've read that loperamide should not be given to herding type breeds because they often cannot remove it from their system.

This product contains the following ingredients:

Active Ingredients: Calcium carbonate 240mg and bismuth subcarbonate 30mg.

Loperamide is a prescription medication so you will not be able to find this within any over the counter supplement or non prescription medication. It can only be dispense If prescribed by your vet.

Max dose in 24 hours

Debra Kilbee

1 year Labrador,85lb what is maximum dose in a 24hour period.

  • VioVet Staff

The dose for a 85lb (38.5kg) dog is 4 tablets twice daily for 3 days. You should not go above this amount, therefore 8 tablets in 24 hours is the max.
