Everything in our range is 100% natural with no added grains, fillers or artificial ingredients, so it’s not only your dog who’s feeling good about eating it!
We’re passionate about providing our pets with the best quality nutrition, which is the key to the foundation of a healthy & happy life. This means healthy skin & coat, teeth & gums, better digestion (this means nicer poos!) and strong bones.
Our food is complete and nutritionally balanced by including a carefully measured mix of meat, offal, bone and vegetables, so there is no need to add anything extra to your dog's diet if you don’t fancy it, making it perfect for beginners to raw feeding. We’ve also popped it into a chub so that it’s easier to portion as needed - handy!
Adult dogs should be fed 2-3% of their body weight per day - every dog is different, so adjust portions as needed. Here is a rough guide to help:

My Dane loves It, easy to mix with biscuit, perhaps a little fiddly to serve out of tube, but not a big deal

How do I calculate how much food to give my dogs per day?
Hi Joe,
Thank you for your question,
As a rule of thumb, inactive and older dogs will need about 2% of their body weight daily, and a very active active dog will need around 3%. Your dogs might fall somewhere between 2% and 3%, depending on how active they are, or if they are older, as older dogs tend to put weight on more easily, so need a little less.
Let's say a moderately active dog needs 2.5% of their body weight in Honest Raw mince daily, if this dog is 10kg, this would work out as 10kg x 0.025 (this is 2.5%) = 0.25kg (or 250g). So they would need around 250g of mince daily.
We do also have a table in the description to give a rough feeding guide for different weights and activity levels.
I hope this helps!

It used to be said that you shouldn’t mix raw and processed kibble is this still the advice Just thinking about holidaying with raw food?
Also is the changeover to raw similar to simply changing brands of kibble eg substitute 25% of new food for a few days and generally increase the amount of new food until A 100% changeover is complete?
Hi Rae,
Thank you for your question,
You are correct that it is not recommended to mix kibble and raw once your dog has fully transitioned from kibble to raw, but there are a couple of options when going on holiday. If you will be travelling somewhere that has a fridge/freezer, it might be an idea to pop your raw food into a cooler for the trip down until you are able to store it. If there isn't a fridge/freezer available at your destination, you could try taking some freeze-dried food with you, these are minimally processed and close to feeding a raw diet, without the need to keep them frozen, so are much easier to travel with and store at room temperature. We have a few freeze-dried foods available, including Natures Menu True Instinct and Orijen Freeze Dried.
If neither of these options are feasible, it won't be the end of the world if you must temporarily switch your dog back on to a grain-free kibble for a short period, though this may lead to tummy upset, but definitely beats not eating anything!
As for transitioning from kibble to raw, you can transition as you normally would from one food to another, substituting part of their meals each day with raw and gradually building this up. If you have a sensitive dog however, it is recommended to split the meals morning and evening to avoid tummy upset, so for example, starting with a small amount of raw food in the morning, then feeding the rest of their normal kibble diet in the evening, building up the amount of raw in the mornings, and reducing the amount of kibble in the evenings until they are on 100% raw. You can then freely feed the raw at any time of the day, at whatever interval suits you.
I hope this helps!

Hi. Is your raw food minced fine or coarse? My dog prefers drier, more chunky food. Thanks.
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for your question,
Our mince goes through a wide grinding plate, so it is more on the chunky side and so holds moisture in a bit better, making it a bit less wet on the outside compared to a finer grind.
I hope this helps!
