Ask Your Own Question

Is this food suitable for a renal diet?

23rd Jul 2014
N. Rees

Hi is this food suitable for a dog who needs to be on a renal diet?

I've currently ordered the wet food from my vets as my dog was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease yesterday. I'm just looking for alternative products to try as my dog is a fussy eater.

If you have any hints or tips to help me manage my dogs condition they will be gratefully received. My dog is currently taking yumove and yumega plus products from yourselves. I'm concerned maybe these products are hindering him?

Looking forward to your reply
Many thanks
Natalie Rees

A mature profile diet such as this is acceptable for a dog with mild renal problems, but it is not a renal diet as such. The Hills renal diets are the Hills k/d range of prescription diets. This includes dried and tinned versions. Royal Canin produce a veterinary renal range too. They are all on our website, but you should check with your vet first to ensure they are the correct type of diet to buy.
