Description

Hill's Prescription Diet t/d Dry Cat Food is clinically proven to reduce plaque, stain & tartar buildup and clean up to the gum line. The kibble contains an exclusive matrix of fibers which act like a toothbrush to scrub the tooth to remove bacteria. The large kibble size, shape and texture cleans the teeth to the gum line to promote healthy gums and teeth. Exclusive feeding of Hill's Prescription Diet t/d Cat Dry Food has been shown to be more effective than toothbrushing, due to the fact that only a few cat owners brush their cats' teeth regularly.

The product was recommended by the vet several years ago, because my cat has dental problems. It's great to know I don't need to worry about running out as VioVet will remember to deliver. I think she would rather eat jelly but she does eat these, to keep her teeth clean.

Easy to use. Just one bowl a day and cat seems to like it. Not sure if working as cat won’t let me that close to his teeth but he is waiting dental treatment and this was advised by vets so hopefully works!

55 Toothbrush in a treat

After vets visits with a couple of my cats and a large expense to clean their teeth I looked for other ways for dental care, toothbrushing cats is no fun ( I have the scars to prove that!!) so this treat that is given to all 5 of my cats, a few each every night has resulted in super clean teeth ( as I'm told by my vet) and no more costly bills or scars!, they all love it and so do i.

Since my cat has started eating this cat food, his teeth has been free of any gum disease. I just give him a few biscuits morning and evening.

Q & A

Stomatitis

V

Is this the best food for my cat with stomatitis?

  • VioVet Staff

A dental care diet like this is a great idea for a cat with stomatitis. The diet helps improve oral hygeine and plaque build up can be a trigger for the inflammation of the gums seen in stomatitis.
You may find though that your cat struggles to eat dry food as the gums are too sore for this. I advise using a wet diet if this is the case. Unfortunately dental diets do not come in wet form.

Thyroid disease.

My 14yr old cat had 6 teeth removed 3 weeks ago. Are these ok for cats with thyroid disease? His levels are in a normal range.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes this product is safe for use in cats with Thyroid problems, as long as the Thyroid disease is being treated and controlled with your vet.

Can on old cat with other issues use this

Hi, had our old cat to the vet last night and the vet said that his teeth were wuite bad with a buid up of plaque. I volunteer at a local pet rescue centre and one of the cats there took these. My cat is 16, wighs 5.7kgs, takes loxicom for arthritis in his back adn also youmove. He has had ctystals in his bladder too and occasionally gets urinary biscuits/meat. Would these be suitable for him? Even a small amount mixed with his food? If not suitable what else could you recommend? Thanks.

  • VioVet Staff

This food would be ideal for your cat and helping to remove the plaque from his teeth. It is perfectly safe to give in conjunction with Yumove and Loxicom.
