Hills Prescription Diet k/d, available from VioVet, has been formulated for dogs with reduced kidney function and progressive kidney (or renal) disease. The unique formulation contains reduced levels of biological protein to reduce over-exertion of the kidneys, as well as increased levels of water soluble vitamins and minerals. Hills Prescription Diet k/d is not suitable for dogs with hyperlipidaemia or pancreatitis but is appropriate across breeds and is clinically proven to reduce the progression of kidney disease when fed in its early stages.
