A great product, that the dog absolutely loves. Always looks for more, even though they are just given as a treat. Good product, well packaged, and at a reasonable price.

These hypothetical dog treats are fantastic for my dog as she has allergies and my absolute live these and as these are the only treats that my girl can have it is awsum and my girl love them the only think that I would like is instead of having a 6 pack for the price which I think is a great price is to have a 7 pack for the same price
But I don’t think that would be at all possible

My dog really loves these treats. Such a relief to find a treat that doesn't make her itch or give her a bad belly.

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Hill's HypoAllergenic Dog Treats, including answers from our team.

Pancreatius

Sue Cope

Can I give my dog these treats she has just been diagnosed with pancreatius she also has low thyroid and is on medication for this and also has arthritis.

  • VioVet Staff

You will need to give low fat food and limit how many different diets your dog has if they have been diagnosed with pancreatitis. I recommend following your vets advice on diet for the condition and sticking to the diet they suggest as the only food wherever possible. Treats like this are great for dogs with allergies but can set off a dog with severe pancreatitis.

Allergies

Gary Bancroft

  • VioVet customer since 2021
  • From: Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom

My dog has total food allergies, dog and human food therefore on zd after refusal to eat Purina ha. On cytopoint 4 weekly. Can he have the hills science treats.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes these Hills HypoAllergenic treats are perfect and safe to give your dog with food allergies. They are hydrolysed so cannot cause a reaction, similar to the Z/D diet.
I recommend running any dietary changes past your vet though if they are on a treatment plan, just in case it affects their decision making.

Treats

Bridie Bessell

my dog has just been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and has been doing well on Royal Canin hypoallergenic kibble. I was wondering if the hypoallergenic treats by Hills would be okay to give?

  • VioVet Staff

These Hills hypoallergenic treats contain hydrolysed proteins which are specially formulated so your dog cannot allergically react to them. They should be safe to give to your dog on Royal Canin Hypoallergenic but this is a different brand so it is worth running any dietary changes past your vet first.

Hills dog treats

Linda

my Dog is chicken intolerant. Can he eat these treats?

  • VioVet Staff

These treats contain chicken but it is hydrolysed chicken protein, meaning it has been specially processed so that the body cannot react to it. Even though your dog is intolerant to chicken they cannot react to hydrolysed chicken so these treats are safe for use with your dog.

Treats with I/D care

debby

Can these treats be used with i/d care dried biscuits?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes these Hypoallergenic treats will be safe to use alongside Hills I/D Care biscuits. They contain hydrolysed proteins so are extremely unlikely to interfere with any dietary trials you are doing. It is always best to run any dietary additions past your vet though to be certain they are happy with this, if you are on a veterinary treatment plan.

Hills z/d dog treats

Liz Crosland

Are Hills Hypoallergenic dog treats suitable for a dog on a z/d dog food trial to test for food allergies.

  • VioVet Staff

These treats contain hydrolysed protein so are very unlikely to upset a food trial, however they have very slightly different ingredients to Hills Z/D. If you are in the middle of a food trial then I advise waiting for the food trial to be over (usually 6 to 8 weeks) before adding these in. Any dietary change can upset a food trial. I recommend using the Z/D food as treats until the trial is over.

Is this product grain/wheat free please?

Paula Deutrom

  • VioVet customer since 2017
  • From: Kent, United Kingdom

My dog is 13 years old, and she cannot tolerate grain and wheat. She doesn't have treats only her kibble.

  • VioVet Staff

These treats do not contain grain and wheat so are suitable for your dog. Their main ingredients are hydrolysed proteins which are specially formulated so they cannot trigger allergic reactions in your dog.
