Puppy with an upset stomach.

31st Jul 2014

Our 10 week puppy Great Dane has had diohreea/loose for 2 weeks. He has been seen by our vet several times has no tempreture and is gaining weight. He is currently on Hills I/d for a couple of weeks. When we start to introduce dry food again, would this be a suitable food for him? Is it gentle on the stomach as he seems incredibly sensitive.

This should be a very good diet for your puppy. I would suggest you switch foods gradually and you do not over-feed him. There is a tendency for these dogs to eat more than their digestion can cope with. This is particularly so with the giant breeds, as owner want then to grow fast and food manufacturers always are generous in their recommended amounts. If in doubt, always feed slightly less and your puppy will do better for it, for lots of reasons. This diet is good though.
